Hmmm, maybe I should try and make every post title rhyme from now on…
Anyway, the Alberta Bicycle Association released updated standings for the Alberta Road Cup and it is clear that the arrival of the Fiera Race Team has fundamentally and forever changed the dynamics of the Alberta bike racing scene. Its an earthquake! A tsunami! Bigger than the creation of Team Radioshack!
Early in the season, and Fiera is sitting pretty in 12th place and within striking distance of 9th place and… gasp!… the Hardcore Cycling Club! Can it be? Fellow teammates in one discipline, fighting bitterly and without mercy in another? The drama! The horror! Someone get me a Hollywood producer on the line!
Anyway, Shari is currently ranked 19th in the province out of all racing women on the road, after just one race. Stefan meanwhile is ranked 1st in Cat 4, and has upgraded to Cat 3 where he is ranked 14th after just one race.
This weekend’s Pigeon Lake Spring Classic is shaping up to be a battle royal between the bitter rivals with Shari, Joe, Stefan, and Pat [UPDATE: Simmon is also joining the CAT 5 battle – yeeehaw!] looking to drop the hammer (or build base, as the case may be).
The Mountain Biking results have yet to be updated, but I am predicting that the arrival of the Fiera Race Team will have the same planet smashing, universe exploding impact.
