Cannondale CAAD9 – June 6, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Simmon Hofstetter’s Cannondale CAAD 9, on June 6, 2010, at the Pigeon Lake Road Race, 5 km from the finish line.

The CAAD9 served Simmon valiantly, carrying him over many curbs, hills, and miles in a great number of triathlons, trips to the beer store, and the Pigeon Lake RR.  The CAAD9 is survived by it’s Keo Look pedals and it’s matching water bottles and cages.

In-lieu of flowers, please send donations for a new, super-fast time-trial bike.  (Yes, Simmon is as banged up as his bike, with a broken collar bone and a nasty road rash, but he is in good spirits. Full race report to follow).

  1. Brings a tear to my eye.

Forget the TT bike, let’s get the man a CX bike that can double as a road bike!

A rough inventory shows that the following parts may be salvaged:
    fork
    fr. wheel (uncertain about rear)
    stem
    seatpost
    crankset
    pedals
    cogset
brakes (but definitely not the levers!!)
    water bottle cages
